We start our development with designing our cryptex on Tinkercad
This is my first stage of development.
Prototype
As you can see I've just designed the inner tube which will have the notches on it later. I've also designed two different rings. The ring without the inner indentation was my first design. Then I realized we needed something for the notch to click into. That's why I included the inner indentation.
This is the complete prototype that is in the printing stage. As the tubes print I will be perfecting the numbers on the rings. I have kept the old rings and the different versions to show how the development has come along.
This is first "working" prototype. I realized a major flaw with the security of the cryptex. There is nothing but surface tension holding the outer ring in. So I have added notches on the outer ring also to keep the rings on.
